The women's basketball team's shooting was as cold as the temperatures outside as they lost to Snead State on Saturday by a 53-39 final. The loss drops the squad's overall record to 11-7 on the season.
The team connected on only 9 of 46 shots (19.6%) from the field in the loss. The teams were tied at 21 a the end of the first half, but the Cougars were outscored 32 to 18 in the second half.
Mar'Nazha Houston and Macie Collins were the only ones to reah double figures. Houston led the way with 13 points while Collins finished the game with 11 points.
Houston had a double-double as she led the team with ten rebounds, and Collins had seven boards in the game. Kennedy Baker finished with five in the contest.
Kayla Lopez led the team with three assist while Collins led with two steals.
The team returns to action when they host Jackson State in conference action on Saturday, January 24. Game time is set for 2pm EST.
