COUGAR WOMEN PLACE FIVE IN DOUBLE FIGURES WITH WIN
The women's basketball team broke a three game losing streak on Tuesday night as they traveled to Lookout Mountain to take on the Covenant College junior varsity squad. They sprinted out to a 23-2 lead after the first quarter on their way to a 95-35 victory.
They placed five scorers in double digits led by Macie Collins who had 21 points. Mar'Nazha Houston came off the bench with 17 points followed by Sloan Pender and Kennedy Baker who had 16 points each in the game. Damoni Kpana ended the game with 12 points.
Houston, Collins , and Baker each recorded double-doubles as Houston pulled down 12 rebounds while Collins and Baker each had 11 boards. Kayla Lopez had six assists and six steals in the game to lead the team. Baker had five assists while Pender and Collins each passed out four assists. Houston followed up Lopez with five steals in the game.
The team will hit the road on Monday as they travel to play Young Harris College. Game time is set for 2pm EST.
