WOMEN'S BASKETBALL SECURES BACK TO BACK CONFERENCE WINS
After defeating Motlow State this past Wednesday, the women's basketball team scored back to back wins as they defeated Vol State on Saturday by an 84-68 final.
Trailing 38-33 at the half, the Cougars cut it to three after three quarters. They would outscore the Pioneers 33-14 in the final stanza to pick up the victory.
Sloan Pender would lead the way with 24 points. She was followed by Kennedy Baker with 15 while Kayla Lopez would end with 14 points. Macie Collins and Ziara Thompson each would finish with nine points.
Baker would record another double-double as she pulled down 13 rebounds. Collins would follow with 12 boards while Mar'Nazha Houston finished with nine in the contest.
Lopez would record her own double-double with 13 assists. Baker would have three steals in the game while Lopez and Houston each had two. Erin Dixon would lead with two blocks.
This finishes their conference play until January. They still have tow non conference games this week to conclude play for the semester. They travel to play Southern Crescent on Wednesday with game time set for 5:30pm EST. They will finish play for 2025 on Saturday, December 13, as they travel to Gadsden State. Game time for that game is 2pm EST.
The squad has a 3-4 record in conference play with an overall record of 6-5.
