COUGAR LADIES EARN THEIR FIRST CONFERENCE WIN
The Cougar wome's basketball team earned their first conference win of the year ass they traveled to Chattanooga State and defeated them 58-56. The contest stayed close for the whole game with no team gaining a real advantage. The women's record now stands at 2-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
Sloan Pender led the way for the squad with 21 points. Mar'Nazha Houston would finish with 14 points while Kennedy Baker finished with twelve. Macie Collins scored eight points, but had three rebounds and two assists in the game.
Houston and Baker would score double-doubles in the game as Houston led the way with 16 rebounds. Baker was right behind with ten boards. Kayla Lopez led the squad with four assists while Pender would lead with two steals, and have three assists. Both Houston and Baker had two blocks on the night.
The ladies will host their first home conference game this Saturday as they welcome Dyersburg Stae to L. Quentin Lane Gymnasium. Dyersburg currently sits at 2-0 in conference play with a 3-1 overall record. Game time is set for 2pm EST.
