SHOOTING WOES HURT CLEVELAND WOMEN IN LOSS
The ladies went on the road Saturday for an important conference tilt against Columbia State. They suffered from low shooting percentages from the field and the free throw line in a 65-50 loss.
They trailed by one point at the half, but were outscored 20-8 in the third quarter as they connected on only two shots from the field in the period.
Sloan Pender led the team with 16 points while Mar'Nazha Houston followed with 14 points as they were the only players to reach double figures. Macie Collins would finish with eight points, but would have eight rebounds to go with three assists and steals in the game.
Houston would be the leading rebounder with ten in the contest while Kennedy Baker had seven to go with three steals. Kayla Lopez would finish with six assists while Pender had two steals and assists in the game.
The women return to action on Tuesday as they travel to Covenant College for a 5pm EST matchup.
