MEN'S BASKETBALL DISPATCHES BEVILL 95-55
The men's basketball team played their last non conference game of the year Saturday. It was good results as the squad took a 95-55 win over Bevill State (AL). With the win, the Cougars overall record increases to 7-9.
Leading 39-20 at the break, the team outscored their opponents 56-35 in the second half for the importannt win going into the seond half of conference play. This was the second win in a row for the Cougars.
Four scorers reached double figures in the game led by A.J. Horton and Xavier Washington with 20 apiece. Brandon Lanier contribured 18 points while Kedrick Franklin finished with 12 in the contest.
Lanier made it a double-double with ten rebounds in the game. He was followed by Zechariah Canidate with nine boards while Franklin had eight caroms in the game.
Seneca Robinson and Ryan Neal each had three assists to lead the squad. Franklin and Jacob Turner each had three steals in the game.
The Cougars next game is schedule for Saturday, January 24, when they host Jackson State in conference action. Game time is set for 4pm EST.
