The Cougars hosted Walters State Wednesday evening. The Senators, picked to finish first in the conference, came away with the win by an 84-64 final.
Cleveland only trailed by six at the half, but Walters would outscore the Cougars 50-36 in the seond half for the victory.
Kedrick Franklin would lead a trioof double digit scorers with twelve points. Egypt Daniel would add eleven and Xavier Washington would add ten in the game.
Franklin wwould lead the squad with seven rebounds while Brandon Lanier would pull down five boards. Ryan Neal would score nine points and had five assists to lead the team.
Washington would have four steals while Franklin would lead with two blocks.
