The men's basketball team defeated the Tennessee Wesleyan University JV program 121-39 Tuesday night to even their record at 1-1. The squad never trailed in notching their first victory of the year. Every Cougar scored in the lopsoided win.
Reserve Xavier Washington led the team with 27 points on 10 of 11 shooting from the field which included a perfect 6 of 6 from behind the 3-point line. A.J. Horton was next with 20 points and a team high 16 rebounds and seven assists..
Zechariah Canidate and A.J. Wallus also reached double digits. Canidate finished with 13 points, seven assists, and a team high 5 steals. Wallus scored ten points with five rebounds.
Brandon Lanier had six rebounds while Jacob Turner pulled down five in the game. Carson Boyle finished with five assists in the game.
The team begins conference play in their next game as they will face Jackson State on the road. Game time is set for 5pm EST.
