VOLLEYBALL CONTINUES WINNING WAYS; DEFEATS JACKSON IN FOUR SETS
Cougar volleyball finished off their two day swing to west Tennessee with a four set victory over Jackson State 3-1. The win puts the Cougars record at 16-1 overall and 9-0 in conference play.
All four sets were competitive as Cleveland took the first set 25-22 before Jackson won the second set at 27-25. Cleveland came back and took sets three and four, winning the third one 25-20 and the fourth 25-21.
Zowee Dillard led the attack with 15 kills while Elanee Cotter was right behind with 14 in the match. Caroline Church finished with seven and Kennedy Caudill finished with six from the middle hitter spot. Piper Bowers led the team with 21 assists while Brooklyn Mathis finished with 15 followed by Isabella Messer with ten.
Messer led the squad with 25 digs. She was followed by Dillard with 16 and Bowers with 15 on the day. Mathis followed with eight. Megan Crocker, Mathis, and Messer each had two service aces while Caudill would have two block assists in the contest.
Cougars will be back in action on Tuesday as they hst the Raiders of Roane State in a conference matchup. Game time is set for 6pm EST with livestream available through gamestimesportsnetwork.com.
