VOLLEYBALL PREVIEW: CONFERENCE OPENER VERSUS CHATTANOOGA STATE
Cougar volleyball jumps into conference play this evening as they host Chattanooga State. This will be a tough matchup for both squads. Chattanooga has been one of the top teams in the onference while the Cougars have started off strong this year with a 5-0 start to the season.
The Cougars are led on the attack by aaliyah Rodgers, Zowee Dillard, and Saylor Clark. Rodgers had a total of 43 kills on the season with an attack percentage of .451. Dillard has 38 kills while Clark has 36 kills on the year. All three are averaging over or close to three kills a set.
Setter Piper Bowers has totaled 111 assists sofar this season. Megan Crocker and Isabella Messer are the next closest with 18 and 15. Bowers, Messer, and Dillard lead the team in aces with 14, 11, and 10 on the season.
Messer leads the team in digs with 59. Bowers and Clark follow with 30 and 28 while Rodgers and Dillard each have 23 to their credit. Caroline church leads the team in total blocks with seven while Kennedy Caudill and Bowers each five total.
Chattanooga (3-1) are averaging 9.72 kills per set with an attack percentage of .175. They average 9.5 assists, 1.64 blocks, 2.11 service aces, and 16.94 digs per set.
