Cougar Golf Opens 2022-2023 Season at the Alice Lloyd College Invitational
Head Coach Caleb Evans takes his Cougar golfers on the road to start the 2022 season at the Alice Lloyd College Invitational. The 11-team competition includes conference rival Roane State along with Alice Lloyd, Pikeville, Kentucky State, Ohio Christian, Rio Grande, Brescia, Oakland City, Kentucky Christian and Union College.
Rounds one and two played Monday, September 12 and Tuesday the 13th is preceded by a practice round on Sunday September 11. Tournament site StoneCrest Golf Course in Prestonsburg, KY features 18 holes nestled on 700 acres of mountaintop land with a playing length of 7,011 yards.
Three sophomores and two freshmen rounding out Cleveland State's lineup include Dalton Sutton, Bryce Barber, Jarrett Glass, Kipp Coker and Owen Kreuger look to best the competition and golf course elements.
Coach Evans in talking about the excitement of this year is looking to build on last year's National Tournament 13th place finish with five returners who played at the Nationals along with four freshmen.
