GALLATIN - Cleveland State's hopes at bouncing back from Monday's loss weren't enough to power them to a win over Southwest Tennessee Tuesday afternoon.
The No. 8 Saluqis handed the No. 4 Cougars a heartbreaking 11-1 loss in the TCCAA Region VII tournament, which effectively ended their season.
"We could not get anything going offensively," Cleveland State coach Mike Policastro said.
"I'm disappointed that we ended the way we did."
Cleveland State ends with an overall record of 33-17. The Cougars were 16-9 at home and 14-6 on the road. The team struggled down the stretch and came into the tournament having dropped conference series to Southwest Tennessee, Dyersburg State and Jackson State.
