COUGAR BASEBALL ANNOUNCES SPRING SCHEDULE
The Cleveland baseball team has announced their spring schedule for the 2017 campaign. The Cougars are scheduled for 58 games this spring which include their 27 TCCAA conference games.
The season is scheduled to start at Cougar field on Monday, February 6, when they face the junior varsity squad from the University of the Cumberlands from Williamsburg, Kentucky. They will travel that weekend where they will play Gordon College and Columbia State at Gordon in Barnesville, Georgia.
Weather permitting, they will play 14 non conference games before conference play starts on the weekend of March 3 & 4 when they travel to Harriman to face Roane State in their traditional three game series which includes a doubleheader and a single nine inning game on consecutive days.
The following weekend, March 10 & 11, they will host Motlow State in their conference home opener.
The Cougars will see opponents from states around the southeast as well as NJCAA member Vincennes University from Indiana.
Cleveland finished the 2016 season with a 30-21 record which included a strong 17-10 conference record.
This year's TCCAA/NJCAA Region VII baseball tournament will be held at Volunteer State in Gallatin May 7-11.
