Lady Cougars Lose Doubleheader, Outlasted in Eleven Inning Affair
Cleveland State softball loses in eleven innings in game one, shut out in game two verses Southwest Tennessee CC.
Cleveland State lost a one run eleven inning game, then were shut out in the second half of today's doubleheader against Southwest Tennessee CC.
The Lady Cougars scored two in the seventh inning to tie the game at three and send it to extra innings. Each team was held scoreless until the eleventh inning. Cleveland State left the tying run on second base.
Cleveland State's Kara Headrick and Southwest Tennessee's Tara Comer each pitched complete games. Cormer added a double and home run at the plate while also driving in what would end up being the game winning run.
In game two of the double header the Lady Saluqui's shut out the Lady Cougars 6-0. Southwest Tennessee's Hannah Wright pitched a complete game three hit shut out.
Cleveland State (4-8, 3-7) returns to the field Friday at Chattanooga State CC in a double header with first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m.
