COUGARS EARN ROAD WIN; DEFEAT ROANE 79-72
The Cougars went on the road Wednesday, and got themselves back into the win column with a hard fought 79-72 win over the Raiders of Roane State.
Cleveland State amped up their focus in the first half as they kept the hosts at bay. Slowly they would build up a 35-25 lead by halftime. Roane State came out in the second half to fight all the way back to eventually go up by five with eight minutes to play. The Cougars fought back on the hot hand of Tucker Bass, as he and Alfonzo Peoples hit crucial three-pointers to regain the lead.
Cam Copeland (pictured) started strong in the first half, and finished strong to finish with 16 points to lead the team to go with four assists. Jordan Olison and Bass both came off the bench to each finish with twelve points as the only other Cougars to reach double figures.
Terrance Little led the team with nine rebounds to go with seven points. Elijah McCoin led the squad with three steals to go with nine points. Romero Hill was next with 6 rebounds.
