Cleveland State's Men's Basketball team was eliminated in the semifinal round of the Region VII Tournament on Monday night, losing to #2 Motlow State, 62-52.
Leading the Cougars in this matchup was Cam Copeland who scored 17 points on 5-12 shooting, he also collected 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Tevin Olison finished with 15 points shooting 50% from the field and 3-7 from the arc. Victory Curry finished with 8 points but snagged 6 rebounds a block.
The Cougars shot 34% from the field and 30% from the arc compared to Motlow's 43% and 37% respectively. Cleveland State was also outrebounded by Motlow, 42-34. At the half, the Cougars were trailing Motlow, 33-26. Cleveland State came out in the second half and kept the game much closer, only being outscored by 3 points in a 26-29 second half score resulting in the 62-52 final.
The Cougars complete their season with a 15-12 (10-8) record, boasting a 10-2 home record and a final four finish in the Region VII tournament.
