Volleyball secured their third straight victory on Wednesday night, defeating Reinhardt JV 3-1 in Waleska, Ga.
In the first set, the Lady Cougars won 25-22. Stephanie Burke was on fire offensively in the set, recording seven kills in the frame. Aly Grace Lemons also posted three kills in the set, with Abbie Stinnett, Madeline Dasher, and Sydney Allen also contributing to the set win offensively.
In the second set, Cleveland State fell 25-19. Stinnett recorded a block and a block assist with Cydney Brock, along with a kill. Lemons was the offensive leader in the frame, recording five kills.
After the loss in the second set, the Lady Cougars never looked back. They took the third set 25-20. Rileigh Barbour recorded two service aces in the frame, with Allen, Dasher and Katlyn Knight also contributing an ace a piece. Burke had three kills in the set, and Lemons recorded the set-winning score.
The fourth set, Cleveland State won 25-22. Burke had four kills in the frame, including one to secure the match victory for the Lady Cougars. Barbour was strong with her serve again to close out the game, recording two aces. Stinnett and Burke also came together to block a Lady Eagles' attack.
Cleveland State will next play on Saturday as they compete in the Southwest Virginia tri-match against the host school and Central Carolina. Their match times are set for 1:00 ET and 3:00 ET.
