Doug Beard played baseball for Cleveland State from 1982-1984. During his time here, he earned Cleveland State Baseball MVP honors, NJCAA All-Region 7 Team honors and NJCAA All-American honors. He was born in Seattle, Washington where he travelled North America for 10 years with his father in the U.S. Navy. He is an alumni of Rhea County High School after which he attended Cleveland State and then East Tennessee State University. Also, Doug was a Cincinnati Reds Rookie League player in Sarasota, Florida. He now lives in Knoxville, Tennessee where he is a Health Physics and Industrial Safety Professional. Some of his hobbies include hunting, fishing and golfing.
